BREAKING COVID-19 News! Emerging Claims That Many Are Getting Reinfected After EG.5.1 Or Even Co-Infected With Fl.1.5.1, EG.5.1.1 And GJ.1.2!

COVID-19 News: If new unsubstantiated claims are verified and turns to be true, the world could very well be in for big mess in terms of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
Emerging claims from doctors, healthcare professionals and researchers from Japan, South Korea, United States and United Kingdom are stating that they are now witnessing individuals who had contracted the EG.5.1 variant and testing positive and then negative a week or so later, once again getting infected but this time with even newer SARS-CoV-2 sub-lineages such as the FL.1.5.1, EG.5.1.1 or the GJ.1.2 strains. The period for reinfection is turning to be so short and also in some cases, co-infections involving the EG.5.1 variant with other newer -sub-lineages have also been observed.
Most of these reinfections and co-infections are turning up in individuals who have been hospitalized due to display of moderate or severe conditions, indirectly implying that these reinfections or co-infections are causing increase disease severity!
Some of these incidences are being documented and should be out as preprints in the coming days.
If these claims are validated, it means that we could all be in a serious mess as it could mean a few things such as the infections with the EG.5.1 variant could really be causing our immune system to become dysfunctional and offer no protection against infections with newer SARS-CoV-2 sub-lineages or that the newer SARS-CoV-2 sub-lineages like the FL.1.5.1, EG.5.1.1 and the GJ.1.2 are all more immune evasive and are able to cause breakthrough infections easily.

COVID-19 News coverages online are reporting that some people were sick for a longer period and displaying symptoms for as long as three to four weeks and have yet to test negative after a reinfection or co-infection.
These numbers could be far more but because genomic sequencing is limited coupled with the fact very few hospitals actually correlate genomic sequencing data against clinical conditions and outcomes, it will be very difficult to really assess what is going on.
So far there has not been much studies done about the immune evasiveness and pathogenic nature of the EG.5.1. A recent Japanese study show that it had a higher reproductive number and did warn a bit about some humoral issues but did not go into much details.

Also, as far as the new SARS-CoV-2 sub-lineages that are also gaining circulation predominance, we do not have much data about them yet let alone about immune evasiveness or about their pathogenesis.
The newly emerged FL.1.5.1 aka Alias for XBB.1.9.1.1.5.1 seems to trailing behind the EG.5.1 variant in many countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Dominican Republic.

GJ.1.2 aka XBB.2.3.3.1.2 is a sub-lineage arising from the XBB.2.3 sub-lineage.

At the moment we do not have much data about these new sub-lineages.
We are however waiting for the publication of these preprints about the claims of the reinfections and co-infections.
It will however be interesting if we arrive at a point soon where, the newer -sub-lineages finally emerge and there is completely no immune protection accorded by previous infections or even by the vaccines! It will be fun to watch what happens as humans get constantly bombarded by newer emerging sub-lineages with no immune protection of whatsoever at all! I am still rooting for the SARS-CoV-2 virus!
