With SARS-CoV-2 Actually Hyperendemic, Mask Serves No Purpose Now! Rather A Concerted Clean Air Strategy And Prophylactics Are Needed Urgently!
COVID-19 News: There are lots of Zero COVID-19 zealots out there promoting masking and a whole range of respirators, often meaning well or simply trying to get some kind of exposure in society or online to make themselves important although they have no clue about the dynamics and kinetics of the current COVID-19 situation or are they even up to date with the evolution of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Some of them were the clowns who initially proposed flattening the curve via 1.5 meters social distancing until they found out that the SARS-CoV-2 is airborne. Then they started focusing on airborne and proposed clean air strategies which is all good provided it is deployed everywhere and is made mandatory or else it serves no purpose at all!

The virus is literally everyway and billions of humans are simply infected and majority with viral persistence and are constantly shedding the virus through various ways. As mentioned in that article, the SARS-CoV-2 virus has evolved to withstand extreme environmental conditions and can be even spread by winds over extensive distances and time. It can remain infectious in the air and surfaces for longer periods of time now and can be transmitted through various ways. Animals and even various insects are now reservoirs for the virus including rats, mice, cockroaches houseflies and even common pets.
The only thing is that majority of the SARS-CoV-2 sub-lineages currently in circulation are only initially causing asymptomatic or mild infections for the majority except those in the vulnerable groups ie the immunocompromised, the elderly and the very young, those with existing comorbidities and those with certain genetic issues.
Studies and past COVID-19 News reports have already shown that the mouth and nose are not just the only way that the SARS-CoV-2 virus can get thru the human body as the eyes, ears and even skin can be possible entry routes.

While some may say another reason for masking is so that those infected will not be able to spread the virus, they should take heed of the fact that even flatulence can release the virus into the air though the other orifice in the human host that has no relevant protective covering so far!

With the SARS-CoV-2 hyperendemic and unless a person is also using full PPE clothing and also goggles and taking appropriate disinfecting measures, simply masking is not going to serve any purpose anymore. It might have in the beginning of the pandemic but not in the state we are now in.
It is so ridiculous seeing masked people taking off the mask while they are drinking or eating outside or coming back to their homes without proper disinfection methods in place and assuming that they have been protected while their clothes and footwear and other expose parts of their bodies are possibly laden with the infectious virus.
It has already been seen that so many people who masked still contracted the virus!
What is more critical right now is employing proper 24 hour air cleaning or disinfecting strategies in not only all indoor settings, modes of transportation but even in certain enclosed outdoor settings. And this has to enforced everywhere to see results as simply having a few locations or premises doing so will defeat the purpose.
The only proper solution to dealing with the ongoing COVID-19 crisis that is fast accelerating is to put more resources into the development of broad-spectrum antivirals and
prophylactics. Unfortunately, not much efforts are being seen in this direction as certain groups that are involved in controlling the COVID-19 narratives are still focused on vaccines and boosters!
If nothing is done fast, we are soon going into a more darker phase of the COVID-19 pandemic.
