The patient’s kidney function deteriorated rapidly. His creatinine levels rose sharply to 9.9 mg/dL, indicating severe kidney failure. As his condition worsened, doctors had to start dialysis to support his body.
Extensive testing ruled out other causes such as autoimmune disorders, chronic infections, and blood-related diseases. With no other explanation found, doctors believe the recent COVID-19 infection likely triggered the condition.
Treatment Leads to Full Recovery
Doctors initiated aggressive treatment using cyclophosphamide, a powerful drug that suppresses the immune system, along with steroids to reduce inflammation.
