Two New Symptoms Seen In The United Kingdom With Regards To Omicron Infections: Nausea And Loss Of Appetite. The Omicron IS Evolving!

Omicron Symptoms: Besides the normal symptoms of Omicron infections which are very similar to the common cold such as runny nose, sneezing, chills, headaches, fever, sore throat, body pains, night sweats and fatigue, health experts and doctors in the United Kingdom are also reporting that in the last one week, many Omicron infected patients are also reporting nausea including vomiting and also a loss of appetite.

Some doctors are also reporting the emergence of new Omicron Symptoms including gastrointestinal issues in some patients infected with the Omicron variant including increased stomach acidity, abdominal pains, digestion issues and constipation. (Not diarrhea which was observed in certain infections involving the Delta variants)

All this makes sense as Thailand Medical News had made two earlier reports on the fact that the Omicron is still aggressively evolving and we are finding new Omicron sub-lineages emerging that are spreading in clusters and having their own unique mutations on them and possible unique pathogenesis formats which could account for the newer symptoms.

Also, we had reported that the Omicron is also shifting its focus from the ACE2 receptors to other human host receptors including the DDP4(Dipeptidyl peptidase 4) receptors, CD147, Neuropilin‐1, alanyl aminopeptidase (ANPEP), glutamyl aminopeptidase (ENPEP) and angiotensin II receptor type 2 (AGTR2). Some of these receptors are heavily found in the gastrointestinal tract and again can justify the emergence of newer symptoms.

It should be noted that the only differentiating symptoms between Omicron infections and the common cold is a loss of smell and taste which is only uniquely found in COVID-19 infections. However, in the case of Omicron infections, not many people are reporting that symptom anymore.

In the case of Omicron breakthrough infections in those who were vaccinated, it has been found that symptoms include fevers that are high and typically lasting over 2 to 4 days.

Also, in cases where Omicron infections progress to moderate or even severe conditions, the start of coughs and slight breathing issues are typically warning signs.

We do expect that as the Omicron variant continues to evolve and mutate with even more new sub-lineages emerging, symptoms might start to differ and newer symptoms might present themselves.

Whatever the symptoms might be, all those who think that they might be infected with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus should always get tested preferably using the PCR test platform and also see a doctor for treatment. (That is if the doctor concerned knows how to treat COVID-19!...most are simply buffoons and are clueless, merely listening to the directives issued to them by stupid health authorities!)
