In a picturesque coastal town in Phuket, Thailand, a serene evening on Yamu Beach turned into a heated altercation, as a Swiss man and his wife allegedly assaulted a local doctor. The incident has ignited public fury, leading residents to organize a rally against the couple. What began as a dispute over perceived trespassing has now escalated into a larger debate over land rights and the conduct of foreigners in the popular tourist destination.

There are many Swiss nationals and Europeans based in Thailand who just because they have monies are assuming that they are feudal lords in the country and often treat locals and other Asian in terrible manners. Some marry local Thai prostitutes or local females who have been in the sex industry and use them as proxies for purchasing land which is not allowed for foreigners and also to set up businesses that are prohibited to foreigners. There are some corrupt government officials and even politicians including law enforcement individuals who are sometimes protecting these racialistic Swiss and European nationals.

The case has sparked public attention as a member of the Thailand Medical community had been assaulted.

The Altercation
On the evening of February 24, Urs "David" Fehr, a 45-year-old Swiss national, reportedly kicked Dr Thandao Chandam, a 26-year-old medical professional at Dibuk Hospital in Phuket. The doctor, along with a friend, was peacefully moon-watching on steps near Fehr's beachfront villa, located on public beach land. The couple, Fehr and his wife Khanuengnit, claimed they mistook the women for Chinese tourists who had allegedly trespassed on their property earlier.

The Chinese embassy and government should also get involved based on the couple’s statements as what they claimed made it look that if those that had been sitting on the public land area were indeed Chinese nationals, it would have been ok to kick them!

The Thai doctor suffered serious physical injury and mental issues as a result of the incident.

Public Backlash
In response to the assault, Fehr and his wife explained that they thought the doctor and her friend were intruders. However, the incident, captured on video and widely shared online, has triggered a public outcry. Locals are now demanding the expulsion of the Swiss couple and the return of the public beach to the community. The case has taken a legal turn, with the couple summoned to Thalang police station to face a physical assault charge.

Land Encroachment
The villa steps, where the alleged assault occurred, were later found to be encroaching on public beach land. Tambon Pa Klok municipality filed a complaint against Phuket Peninsula Estate Co Ltd, the entity responsible for the villa project. The local mayor, Panya Sampaorat, revealed that further inspections exposed two more constructions - wooden stairs and a lounging ground - that also encroached on the beach.

/> Public Rally
As tensions escalate, Phuket residents are planning a rally around Yamu Beach in Thalang district. The objective is clear: to voice their discontent with the Swiss couple's actions and to reclaim the public beach for the local community. The rally signifies a united stand against perceived injustices and a call for authorities to prioritize the interests of the Thai people.

Legal Proceedings
Legal proceedings are underway, with the police set to submit the case summary to Phuket Kwaeng Court. The assault charge against Fehr has brought attention to the need for a fair and just resolution. The incident has not only strained local-foreigner relations but also prompted discussions on the conduct of tourists and expatriates in Thailand.

Community Perspective
Phuket deputy governor Adul Chuthong emphasized that justice is paramount in resolving disputes, emphasizing the governor's commitment to ensuring fairness for all parties involved. The rally and community support for the local doctor underscore the collective desire for justice and accountability, both in this specific case and more broadly concerning land rights and foreign residents.

Business Scrutiny
The controversy has not spared Fehr's business, the Green Elephant Sanctuary Park in Phuket. Some commentators have called for authorities to investigate the operation, raising questions about adherence to laws and regulations. Fehr, expressing willingness to cooperate with any investigation, asserted that his business complies with the law, pays taxes, and meets employment standards.

Thai Police Scrutiny
Netizens are also calling for investigations as the wife of the Swiss man warned the doctor and her friend that her son was a policeman and that she knew the local police in the province and could make trouble for them according to a local news coverage.

Also according to that coverage, two local policemen appeared at the scene after being called by the wife of the Swiss man and the Police warned the doctor that she could face 4 years in jail! Netizens are calling for the names of all two policemen and the son of the wife of the Swiss man to be publcily disclosed and also for the two policemen to be disciplined.

Locals and expats are also worried that the Swiss man, his wife and her son could be part of a larger 'mafia operations' in phuket that have local Thai police involved and are urging urgent invstigations and for the name of the local police to be cleared of any involvement.

Both locals and foreigners should be wary of travelling to Phuket till this matter is cleared publicly!

Detest Against Racists Swiss Nationals, Switzerland And Certain Europeans Growing In Thailand With Plans For Boycott Of All Swiss Products!
The incident along with any other such reported discriminatory practices by Swiss nationals and also other Europeans is sparking a lot of anger and detest among locals with some calling for a protest also in Bangkok and also to boycott all Swiss products and businesses. Locals are also asking for government officials and the local Police to scrutinize all Swiss and European nationals doing businesses in Thailand.

Hatred is turning towards Switzerland as with the WEF and WHO being based in Switzerland, many are also asking how the Swiss government can be so complicit and allow such entities especially the WEF that preaches depopulation and removal of basic human rights and freedom through a lot of stupid policies and strategies to be based there.

Thailand Medical News would like to add that many Swiss Nationals and certain Europeans are very racialistic towards all things originating from Thailand or Asia. Thailand Medical News itself has been a victim of racialism as many Swiss and certain Europeans detests a medical news site that originates from Thailand, assuming that locals and Asians lack any prowess in the field of Medicine and Sciences and that only they are superior and know it all. One example was a remark made by a mere biostatistician based at the University of Basel, Switzerland, who made discriminatory remarks about our site.

While news and journalists covering medical segments can sometimes make mistakes, real medical professionals and researchers from the scientific community can always teach them and correct mistakes but not merely make derogatory comments online.

These same individuals do not make comments when news sites from Switzerland or elsewhere in Europe write nonsense or make ridiculous medical or health claims.

Thailand Medical News had made legal case against the concerned individual In various countries where we have a registered presence so that the individual can be arrested upon arrival for legal action. We have also done the same for 2 Italian journalist and also an Italian researcher and also a French and British Individual for similar issues. We are now planning to take further action against the concerned individuals in their own home countries using their own laws and have just engaged an EU law firm.

Asians should fight back against racist Europeans like these and at the same time be wary of many of these Europeans coming to stay or work in Asia as they might bring along their negative behaviors and beliefs that can erode Asia and make it just as bad as Europe these days.Asian governments should have more stringent policies and vetting procedures for granting of visas or business licenses to such Europeans wanting to settle down or to do business in Asia.

Conclusion:
The clash on Yamu Beach has evolved into a multifaceted issue, intertwining allegations of assault, land encroachment, and scrutiny of a foreigner-operated business. The upcoming rally symbolizes the community's demand for justice and the protection of public spaces. As legal proceedings unfold, the incident raises broader questions about the delicate balance between tourism, land rights, and the conduct of foreigners in Thailand. The outcome will likely have lasting implications for how such disputes are addressed in this popular tourist destination.

More Thais should stand up and organize similar rallies in Bangkok and other provinces to prevent the buying up of Thailand by foreigners or discrimination against Thais and Thai products or services.

The medical community in Thailand should also stand up to show support for the assaulted doctor.
