Hysteroscopy is a method of looking at the inside of the uterus – the cavum uteri – with optical instruments and video devices. It is possible to remove abnomal tissue with special devices. For control of bleeding high-frequency current is used. Indications for a hysteroscopy:

  • Bleeding disorders
  • Distinctive findings during an ultrasound testing
  • Diagnosis of benign and malignant tumours in the uterus
  • Removal of fibroids and myoma extended into the uterus
  • Diagnosis of factors responsible for acyesis (abnormalities or adhesions in the cavity of the uterus)
  • Follow up on previous procedures within the uterus
  • Finding and removing loops
