Coronavirus News: New SARS-CoV-2 Variant With N501Y Mutation In Receptor Binding Motif Of The Spike Protein Fast Becoming Prevalent In UK

Coronavirus News: More good news for those sick with the arrogance of the British, Americans and French so called medical ‘experts’ and the clandestine behavior of the governments from these countries in trying to curtail news and developments about the COVID-19 disease to its citizens through the support of wire agencies, mainstream media, social media and also search engines.
The British Health Secretary Matt Hancock announced the emergence of a new SARS-CoV-2 variant that is fast spreading in the UK and has linked the discovery of a mutation in the virus’ spike protein to increased transmission; while that is yet to be verified, it would be of grave concern if it indeed proves to be the case. While Hancock states that there is “nothing to suggest” this variant will cause more serious disease, if it spreads more readily than other versions, infecting more people, it could eventually take a bigger toll on human health.”
The variant described in the House of Commons contains a novel set of mutations associated with a lineage spreading rapidly in the South East of England (and more widely) that is the subject of ongoing investigations by the UK Public Health Agencies, coordinated by Public Health England and supported by COG-UK (COVID-19 Genomics UK.)
This variant carries a set of mutations including an N501Y mutation in the receptor binding motif of the Spike protein that the virus uses to bind to the human ACE2 receptor.
The mutation involved a critical amino acid change, Asn501 to Tyr (N501Y), within the receptor-binding domain of the viral spike protein.
Thailand Medical News has been warning about the emergence of various SARS-CoV-2 strains and variants since April but unfortunately many media outlets with mainly female journalist with no scientific backgrounds or even scientific or medical education have been writing distorted and misguided articles claiming that there are no mutations or that even if there are mutations they do not pose any threat! There are drug and antibody resistant SARS-CoV-2 variants fast emerging and becoming more prevalent in circulation fortunately in countries like the United States, Britain, France and India.

Some of these new variants with mutations in the spike proteins could lead to strains that could derail all the COVID-19 vaccine programs.

The British health secretary was right to bring up this issue to the House of Commons as the fact remains that the mutations are found at the areas of the spike protein that affects binding to the ACE-2 binding and could in fact be enhancing the process thus making it more infectious. Detailed studies are needed to verify this.
In fact interestingly the mutation was created in lab for mouse models between June and September by Chinese researchers from the State Key Laboratory of Pathogen and Biosecurity, Beijing Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology, Academy of Military Medical Sciences- China, to make it more infectious and to use these models for research with vaccine candidates and other therapeutics.

How these variants started to emerge in UK is an interesting question ie whether it was really through simply positive selection processes of the virus while in the human hosts or was it introduced in the population through other means.
However it is interesting to see certain sites that are indirectly funded by large pharmaceutical companies interviewing researchers, some who are again funded by pharmaceutical, biotech companies and government agencies linked to the COVID-19 vaccines, trying to downplay the emergence of these variants and also other mutated strains while the vaccine roll-out programs are underway and orders are still coming in from various countries.

It is really strange that countries like UK, America and France with so much so called medical experts and organizations to fact check and control news dissemination etc are the ones that are worse hit with more its citizens dying. It opens a lot of interesting questions and its time that the local citizens wake up and start doing the necessary to eradicate individuals and organizations trying to control news and information dissemination.
