The World Health Organisation (WHO) is likely to declare a State Of Global Health Emergency before next week, once all evacuations of foreign citizens are out from Wuhan and governments worldwide make necessary preparations as the Global Health Emergency status would have dire consequences on global travel and traffic as many border closures will be enforced along with local stringent measures in every country.
The China coronavirus epidemic will be upgraded as an emergency
global pandemic as there are almost more than 100,000 patients now worldwide that are being termed as under observation as they are either waiting to be tested or awaiting test results. Many governments are concealing these figures so as to not create panic and affect current political or economy issues.
Meanwhile in
China, the current death toll from the
coronavirus is now 170, with 1720 new infections in the last few hours bring the total number of confirmed infected cases to 7715 and another 12,167 highly suspected cases with severe symptoms that are awaiting test results. 1,847 cases are in severe critical condition with most in ICU while another 151,217 cases all over China are under observations (displaying symptoms) but have yet to have any test done yet due to test kit shortage or lack of access to diagnostic facilities.
France has reported yet another case, bringing the total to 5 now. The daughter of a Chinese tourist who is seriously ill in a Paris hospital has become the fifth person in France to be confirmed with the 2019-nCoV coronavirus, officials said Wednesday.
The girl’s 80-year-old father was the fourth confirmed case in France of the new
coronavirus that has killed more than 100 people since it emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December.
"A fifth case has been detected," Health Minister Agnes Buzyn told a news briefing.
"It's the daughter of the Chinese tourist who was hospitalised recently in intensive care in a serious condition," Buzyn added.
The woman in her thirties, "whose condition has worsened, who needs oxygen," has also been placed in intensive care, Buzyn said.
New
coronavirus cases have also been reported in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Macau and Finland
The number of global
coronavirus infected cases stands as :
Thailand (14 cases), Hong Kong (11 cases), Singapore (10 cases), Taiwan (8 cases), Japan (8 cases), Malaysia (7 cases), Australia (7 cases), Macau (7 cases), United States (5 cases), , France (5 cases), South Korea (4 cases), UAE (4 cases), Germany (4 cases), Canada (3 cases), Vietnam (2 cases), Nepal (1 case),
Mexico (1 case) Africa-Cote d’Ivoire (1case), Africa –Zambia (1 case) Sri Lanka (1 case), Ukraine (1 case) and Finland (1 case)
There are thousands under observations all over the world at the moment for the new
coronavirus infection, in almost all countries. For some countries, access to genomic tests from another country might take them up to 4 to 5 days for test results.
