Hilarious! While Countries Across The World Are Banning Travel And Closing Borders, Thailand Is Easing Restrictions For People Entering The Country!

Thailand COVID-19 News: Countries not just in Europe but across the world are going into lockdowns, banning travel and closing borders not only because of surges being reported in many countries nor about the worrisome B.1.1.529 variant, AY.104 subvariant or B.1.640 variant, but rather it is generally expected that the situation is expected to get worse due to a multitude of factors including the cool winter season in the Northern Hemisphere. There are also more variants have been detected with worrying mutations but are not detectable by any current PCR test nor by ATK test. (More about these strains that are already circulating around as more data emerges.)

While many governments across the world are reacting in the last 24 hours and putting in place safety protocols etc, it was reported that Thailand is strangely easing restrictions for people wanting to enter the country! This could be detrimental to the local population if concerning variants that are immune evasive and resistant to the current COVID-19 vaccines start circulating here.

It was reported that from December 1, 2021, people arriving in Thailand as part of the Test & Go and Sandbox schemes will only be required to take an ATK test on arrival and will no longer be required to take a RT-PCR test. (kindly note that mant studies and articles have showed tha ATK testing is not reliable!)

Furthermore, people arriving as part of the Test & Go scheme will only need to book transportation to their hotel of choice and take an ATK test.

These travellers will no longer be required to book a hotel room for one night.

Individuals arriving under the Sandbox scheme will now only book a hotel room for five days.

It is common knowledge that the country is desperate for money especially the tourist dollar as the local economy has been badly mismanaged in the last few years.

But putting the risk of locals second after monetary concerns is really worrying.

Many other countries are imposing travel bans and increasing healthchecks. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/nov/26/who-to-assess-new-highly-mutated-covid-19-variant-as-countries-ramp-up-health-checks

Some local doctors and experts told cal.news/">Thailand COVID-19 News that they are predicting that in another 3 to 5 weeks-time, Thailand will see itself in far worse situation it has ever experienced as a new surge in infections is expected.

Many of the locals who are basically ignorant of anything of intellectual worth, are under the stupid fallacy that as long as they are vaccinated, they are protected and are safe and that they no longer need to be cautious. Well the coming weeks will prove them wrong!

There is an even dire need for the local population to be cautious, practice social distancing and safety measures. As far as possible, there should be an overall reduction in travel and contact. The government should focus on closing its borders and banning all inbound and outbound travel like what countries like Japan, China etc are doing to safeguard its citizens.

The Thai army and police also need to step up their efforts to stop illegal migrants from Myanmar and Cambodia from crossing over as many are basically vectors and are a threat to the health safety of local Thais and expats. More stringent laws need to be enacted to deter these human vectors from crossing illegally into Thailand such as canning like in Singapore.
